I hope some of you reading this decide to join me on May 2nd. My idea was with so many spring races cancelled many of us don’t have anything to train for and this might be a time to support each other over the next month before running our own 5k’s on May 2nd. With the recent social distancing guidelines being extended until the end of April we know there won’t be any organized races until at least then. You can run your 5k outside using your GPS watch, on a track if you have access, or even on your treadmill at home. The idea is to have something to train for and encourage each other to keep training hard during these times.
I have been wanting to work on my speed and run a 5k sometime soon so I figured what a better time than now. I will be putting together a beginner 4 week training plan for anyone out there who might want to start running and take this as a challenge to get started.
Here are the details of the virtual 5k
What: Solo 5k on May 2nd
Time: Any time you decide on May 2nd
Cost: Free
Registration: Please email me at ben.infinityrunning@gmail.com or message me on Instagram or Facebook so I can keep of track of who wants to participate. I will add you to a Facebook Group so you can share your results there, and encourage each other during training.
